In 2012 when NEWLO first launched its partnership with Cisco Networking Academy and CompTIA, no one ever gave us a dog’s chance that we will rise the level we are today. However, like everything else about the story of NEWLO, we start with nothing or very little and build oceans with little drops of water. Today, NEWLO is a leading name in Computer Engineering programmes in Grenada.
Mr. Clyton Pierre, our Computer Engineering instructor, is one of the many staff members who take advantage of the staff training grant to upgrade themselves in their field of expertise. He has become one of the best, if not the best, CompTIA IT programme facilitator in Grenada. He has taken the Computer Engineering programme to a level where we never dreamt we could reach. Through the trainees’ Scholarship fund, the Computer Engineering department is furnished with most of the necessary equipment to facilitate quality training.
In 2017, two of the trainees from the department Kerry Ann Roberts and Kyron Jeremiah who completed the CompTIA A+ certification set international record with excellent performances. In recognition for our excellent performance in recent years in that department, CompTIA presented NEWLO the RISING STAR AWARD at its 2017 CompTIA Annual Conference in Texas, USA.
Mr. Clyton Pierre received the RISING STAR AWARD on behalf of NEWLO in Texas, USA at the 2017 CompTIA Conference for NEWLO’s outstanding performance in the CompTIA IT Certification Programmes.
There is no limit to how far these young people can go given the right opportunities. Several of them have gone ahead to upgrade themselves in higher certificates in the CompTIA programmes and are working in reputable companies in Grenada.
We are so proud of them!
